About The One Fylde Radio Station

One Fylde Radio Station

Where creativity comes to life

One Fylde Radio Station is not just a beacon of broadcast excellence; it is the heart and a celebration of community, creativity, and personal development. It all began with a simple podcast during the isolating times of the COVID-19 lockdown, a podcast that quickly grew into a lifeline, connecting separated loved ones through the power of radio. The overwhelming success of this endeavour paved the way for the creation of a full-fledged station, garnering the prestigious High Sheriff of Lancashire Award for exceptional community service during the pandemic and earning a nomination for the Pride of Lancashire Awards.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Scott, but you may know me better as SMILEY SCOTT, from the One Fylde Radio show, Flashback 30.

Today, I’m thrilled to share my journey with you, and introduce you to the transformative world of Orchard Studio. Firstly, I want to say that I live with autism and a mild learning disability. You might not know this about me, but I DON’T USUALLY talk a lot. However, everything changes when I’m at Orchard Studio. When I’m in front of the microphone, I feel more confidence and freedom to express myself, and connect with others in ways I never thought possible.

Smiley Scott

Orchard Studio has become a sanctuary for me, where I can explore my love for music and TRIVIA, and share it with the world. I’ve learned so much since joining the radio program, from researching interesting facts about my favourite songs, to reading scripts and engaging with the listeners.

On my show, Flashback 30, I get to take listeners on a musical journey from 1980 to the present day. We travel together through time, re living memories, and discovering or Rediscovering great songs.

This experience has given me a new sense of purpose, and a wealth of skills that extend beyond the radio. But the radio program, is just ONE of the amazing activities we have at Orchard Studio. We also offer a range of activities in digital art and filmmaking. I’ve seen my friends, and fellow studio users, create beautiful artwork, and tell compelling stories through film. I’ve watched them develop new skills, grow in confidence, and find joy in self-expression, just like I have. Orchard Studio has created an environment where everyone, regardless of their ABILITY anyone can find a supportive community and an opportunity to shine. And that is something truly special. Looking around today, I can see potential in each and every one of you. Whether it’s in radio, digital art, or film, I’m certain that Orchard Studio has something to offer, that will unlock your creativity, help you build confidence, and find your voice just like it did for me.

Thank you , for listening to my story, and for taking the first step in exploring what Orchard Studio has to offer. This place has been a game-changer for me, and I’m excited for you to experience it too. and remember, in the words of my radio Show SIGN OFF – KEEP SMILING 😊
